About the Role
The Manager Economy and Creative Industries is a key leadership position responsible for supporting business growth and development throughout the Colac Otway Shire. This role oversees economic development, creative industries, tourism, events, and the Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre. The position also leads business engagement, investment initiatives, and the development of strategies to drive economic prosperity across the Shire.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Community and Economy, this role will lead efforts to grow the Shire’s economy by building collaborative relationships with businesses, community groups, and government bodies. The successful candidate will bring a contemporary approach to enhancing business engagement, tourism, and the creative industries, ensuring that the region’s economy continues to thrive.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a dynamic leader with extensive experience in economic development, tourism, or business engagement. You will have a proven track record of supporting business growth, leveraging investment opportunities, and managing a diverse range of economic and creative initiatives. Strong stakeholder management, financial acumen, and an understanding of regional development challenges are essential for this role. Experience in leading cultural or creative sectors is highly desirable.
