We are seeking a motivated and suitably experienced individual to join our Planning and Building team as Coordinator Statutory Planning in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

This position is based in Colac.

This is a leadership position that will ensure that Council:

  • Delivers and administers its statutory planning responsibilities pursuant to the Planning and Environment Act 1987, the Subdivision Act 1988, the Colac Otway Planning Scheme (and its successors) and any other relevant government legislation and planning policy.
  • Reviews its Planning procedures on a regular basis, to maximise efficiency.

About You:

To support your success in this role you will have:

  • Senior experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Town Planning or other related discipline is essential.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated experience in the preparation of high-quality submissions and reports.
  • Experience in staff supervision.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Planning law, relevant legislation/regulations, codes of practice, processes and procedures, as well as knowledge of contemporary planning issues.
  • Computer literacy skills including understanding Geographic Information Systems, Spreadsheet database applications and Word Processing.
  • A current driver’s licence.

Salary information: $111,104.76 to $124,013.76 per annum plus superannuation.
