We are seeking a friendly team player to join our Planning & Strategic Focus team as Planning and Building Administrator in a Permanent Part-Time capacity, up to 32 hours per week.  Days and hours can be flexible.

This position is based in Colac.
 
As Planning and Building Administrator you will ensure that Council:
  • Has support service excellence across all the planning and building services to maintain efficient processes.
  • Provides a customer focused and professional administrative support to the Planning and Building units, to support service excellence across all the planning and building services and consistent with Council’s values and best practice standard.
  • Complies with relevant legislation, guidelines and objectives through the delivery of efficient and effective administrative support.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Processing daily incoming mail (internal & external).
  • Registering incoming planning, building and subdivision applications.

  • Referring planning, building & subdivision applications to internal departments and external authorities.

  • Booking of inspections for the Municipal Building Surveyor, other building staff and Planning Department.

  • Processing Property Information Certificates.
About You:
 
To support your success in this role you will have:
  • Demonstrated strong administration skills and experience in a busy and service focused office environment.
  • Demonstrated highly developed customer service experience in customer service-related roles.  
  • An ability to make sound judgements in prioritising time between urgent and important tasks.
  • Well-developed organising skills, with a thorough and systematic approach to keeping records with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) and Internet.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team environment.
  • An understanding of the planning and building related legislation and associated statutory processes and procedures would be desirable but not essential.
  • A current driver’s licence.

Salary information: $67,226.64 to $70,836.48 per annum pro rata plus superannuation.
