Multipurpose Officer/Plant Operator

Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking to recruit a Multipurpose Officer/Plant Operator to join our Services and Operations team in Apollo Bay in a Temporary Full-Time, Fixed Term capacity until 10 September 2025 with an opportunity to extend this Fixed Term.

As a member of the Services and Operations team you will carry out allocated tasks on Council's roads, bridges and road reserves, as well as Council-owned and managed land, with an emphasis on safety, quality and budget requirements to meet corporate values and standards.

This position is based at the Apollo Bay depot.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Demonstrate experience in manual/outdoor civil work activities
  • Demonstrate experience in road construction/maintenance works
  • Have good written communication skills
  • Have traffic control, roadwork signage competence certificate essential
  • OH&S Construction Induction Card/White Card essential
  • Truck and/or required machinery tickets such as grader, roller, loader, excavator and skid steer
  • Current manual drivers licence

Salary information: $32.45 to $34.32 per hour including industry allowance plus superannuation
