The Colac Otway Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified individual to join our Assets and Engineering Department as Asset Systems Officer in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

As the Asset Systems Officer you will ensure that Council:
- Has the infrastructure assets, utilising asset management and spatial systems to record and display asset information, for use by the organisation.
- Maintains an up to date and accurate register of assets, necessary to progress Council’s overall asset management objectives and compliance obligations.
- Has the support available to the unit by assisting to undertake proactive and reactive inspections of Council’s roads and footpaths in line with its Road Management Plan.
- Can provide assistance when required in undertaking various field-based investigations to ensure the currency and accuracy of asset data and also that the principles of risk management are applied to Council’s portfolio of assets.
- Participating in asset condition assessments and through the provision of technical advice and data processing services, ensure the outputs of condition assessments are relevant, accurate and integrated into the asset management system in a timely manner.
- Execution of queries and the provision of reports and maps as requested in relation to Asset Management and other associated matters.
- Undertaking a variety of field-based assessments, including Level 1 and 2 assessments, related to programmed and reactive inspections of Council’s asset portfolio.
About You:
To support your success in this role you will have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or other equivalent.
- Sound judgement, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to exercise vision and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to relate well to internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and proactively problem solve.
- Ability to forward plan and work collaboratively to develop plans and solutions.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health & Safety practices.
- Ability to work well within a team in person, and remotely.
- Current Drivers Licence.

Salary information: $72,597.20 to $82,571.32 per annum, plus superannuation
