The Colac Otway Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified individual to join our Assets and Engineering Department as Asset Surveillance Officer in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

As the Asset Surveillance Officer you will:
- Monitor and coordinate works undertaken by contractors/ private developers to develop and maintain Council assets. This role requires liaising closely with contractors and developers to ensure all construction and maintenance standards are met.
- Ensure quality completion of new development projects through monitoring the delivery and implementation phase.
- Support and enable Council’s key objective to provide and maintain Council infrastructure and assets that meet community needs now and in the future.
- Carry out condition inspections as part of the Asset Protection Permit and Building Permit Approval system processes.
- Process applications, permits, approvals and consents associated with works that could affect a Council asset.
- Monitor performance of external building contractors and initiate corrective action for any non-conformance under the Asset Protection Permit system.
- Complete internal/external reports in line with the expectations of the Asset Protection Permit system.
- Keep adequate inspection records and assist in contract administration generally.
About You:
To support your success in this role you will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or approved equivalent with experience in delivery of similar services.
- Demonstrated experience in the municipal or civil engineering field.
- Demonstrated aptitude in computer based systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with the Road Management Act 2004 and the Local Government Act 2020.
- Ability to manage one’s own time effectively and efficiently to achieve desired workload outputs.
- Holder of a current Victorian Drivers Licence.
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check.
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Colac Otway Shire Council).

Salary information: $86,793.20 to $93,614.04 per annum plus superannuation
