We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Financial Services team as Rates and Receivables Officer in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

This position is based in Colac.
As the Rates and Receivables Officer you will:
- Positively contribute to the operational success of the financial services section through the active support of more senior staff and the achievement of work objectives.
- Provide all rates and property services information in a prompt and timely manner.
- Coordinate Council’s non rates debtor function.
- Assist the community with enquiries and follow up on associated debtor/customer enquiries, both internally and externally.
- Undertake any other related functions as directed by the Coordinator Revenue Services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that council’s non rate debtor revenue is raised and collected in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assisting the general public with counter and telephone enquiries and follow up on associated debtor/customer enquiries, both internal and external, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Supporting the processing of notices of acquisition and disposition.
- Fulfilling the role of Property and Rates Officer in their absence if required.
- Supporting the timely raising of annual rates levied for each assessment.
- Supporting the preparation of land information certificates.
- Processing receipt reversals and/or receipt reallocation as instructed.

- An understanding of the debtor management process and ability to oversee, manage and maintain accounts receivable systems (Desirable).
- An understanding and experience in implementing the relevant legislation, standards and guidelines that apply to rating and revenue accounting (Desirable).

Salary information: $72,597.20 to $82,571.32 per annum plus superannuation
