Information Technology Systems Officer

We are seeking an experienced and helpful individual to join our Information Services Department as Information Technology Systems Officer in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.
 
As the Information Technology Systems Officer you will ensure that Council:
  • Provides reliable and fit for purpose software and equipment to enable staff to perform their roles efficiently and effectively.
  • Implements and adheres to standardised procedures and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices to ensure consistency and quality in service delivery.
  • Maintains secure IT systems, safeguarding Council data and infrastructure against internal and external threats.
  • Delivers IT projects on time, within scope and budget, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and stakeholder expectations. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the security and integrity of Council’s network and communications infrastructure is maintained.
  • Managing the operation and development of the information technology network, supporting server systems and ICT infrastructure, including both on premise infrastructure and applications and cloud/Internet based.
  • Implementing software updates and upgrades.
  • Delivery of training to staff.
  • Providing a professional, friendly and customer orientated approach at all times.
  • Providing a high level of user support through the provision of incident and problem management.
  • Ensuring the information technology service desk operates effectively to enable the provision of quality customer service.

About You:

To support your success in this role you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level customer service skills and ability to resolve issues.
  • Well-developed investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills using an evidence-based approach.
  • Demonstrated experience with networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of IT security technologies and processes.
  • Management and administration of Microsoft and Cloud technology.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  • Knowledge of specialist ERP software, such as Civica Authority (desirable).

Salary information: $86,793.20 to $93,614.04 per annum plus superannuation
