Emergency Management Project Officer

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join Colac Otway Shire Council as Emergency Management Project Officer in a Temporary Part-Time (30.5 hours per week, flexible days/hours), Fixed Term capacity.

As the Emergency Management Project Officer, you will assist Council to:

General

  • Effectively deliver our emergency management responsibilities established in legislation, state plans and policies including the State Emergency Management Plan, the Vulnerable Persons Register and Community Emergency Programs.
  • Contribute to better prepared and more resilient communities.
  • Embed emergency management capacity and capability as a core component of council business.

 Specific

  • Work collaboratively with communities and emergency service agencies to develop and deliver community resilience and emergency management outcomes.
  • Build and strengthen the capacity of Council to deliver community and emergency management initiatives.
  • Develop strong partnerships and networks that support innovation and enhance community resilience in the broader context of emergency management.
  • Understand, interpret and apply latest research learnings into relevant aspects of emergency management planning, for before, during and after emergencies.

Salary information: $72,597.20 to $82,571.32 per annum pro rata plus superannuation.
