Multipurpose Officer Parks and Gardens/Plant Operator

Location: Apollo Bay

We are seeking a skilled Multipurpose Officer Parks and Gardens/Plant Operator to join our Services and Operations team in Apollo Bay in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

As a member of the Services and Operations team you will carry out allocated varied tasks on Council's parks, gardens, streetscapes, public spaces, roads, bridges and road reserves with an emphasis on safety, quality and budget requirements to meet corporate values and standards.

This position is based at our Apollo Bay depot.

The successful applicant will be required to have:

  • Experience in parks, gardens, horticultural/arboricultural or similar outdoor maintenance work.
  • The ability to undertake physical manual labour and safely operate plant, vehicles and equipment, or willingness to be trained.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements for outdoor work, including safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Be able to work effectively in a team with flexibility to assist across different work areas, including road reserves, general maintenance and participation in after‑hours or emergency response work when required.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
  • A current Victorian Driver Licence and Construction Induction (White Card), or willingness to obtain.

Salary information: $64,129.10 to $67,823.63 per annum including industry allowance plus superannuation
