We are seeking exceptional individuals to join Colac Otway Shire Council as Administration Support in a casual capacity.

This position is based in Colac.

This is an administration position that will ensure that Council:

  • Can deliver efficient and professional administrative support to the nominated Business Unit, performing a broad range of word processing, general secretarial and administrative duties.
  • Delivers an outstanding customer service experience to the community and organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide support high quality administrative support with excellent attention to detail
  • Provide an efficient word processing service, with particular regard to accuracy, high-quality work.
  • Assist with administration tasks relating to the departmental operations including creation of purchase orders, scheduling of appointments, preparing agenda and minutes, creation of standard letters and mailing lists or other information required by the department.
  • Support the departmental team in providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Ensure that all records and documentation are managed and stored in the document management system (e.g. Content Manager), in accordance with Council’s Information Management Policy.

About You:

To support your success in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 12 months experience in office support, administration, secretarial and general office procedures in a fast-paced office, where using initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • High level administrative skills and computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office based applications at an intermediate skill level or above).
  • Excellent attention to detail, and a thorough and systematic approach to keeping records.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion regarding confidential issues.
  • Well-developed organisational skills using time management and productivity systems to manage work and meet competing deadlines.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare business correspondence.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.

Salary information: From $38.30 per hour plus superannuation.
