We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Information Services team as Information Management Officer in a Temporary Part-Time, Fixed Term to 6 June 2025 Maternity Leave position capacity.

This position is based in Colac.

As the Information Management Officer you will ensure that Council:

  • Maintains information security functions in line with Victoria Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS)
  • Provides high level customer focused expert information management & security advice to the organisation
  • Maintains organisational compliance with legislative requirements relating to record keeping and information security.
  • Maintain vital record protection and security and meet all legal, evidential and accountability requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting incoming correspondence, assess against organisational unit responsibilities and allocate accordingly.
  • Undertaking record capture, registration, classification, filing, storage, handling, tracking and disposal activities in accordance with the compliance requirements of Council policy, procedure and relevant legislation.
  • Ensuring receipt, processing and delivery of information is performed in the most expedient manner.
  • Ensuring the protection of vital records, the security of confidential information and meeting all legal, evidential and accountability requirements. 

About You:

To support your success in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in local government or information management roles /or post-secondary qualification in business or information management
  • Experience in the operation and administration of an EDRMS together with a high standard of computer skill
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a part of a team
  • Ability to manage time effectively with competing deadlines
  • Evidence of high-level communication skills
  • Experience in servicing customers

Salary information: $33.02 to 34.81 per hour plus superannuation
